5 Interesting Facts About Air and Sea Sickness

      1. Fatigue or Weakness

As you drink, your blood sugar may fall too low. As a result, you will feel weak and shaky. Therefore, changes in mood and seizures may occur.

      2. Dehydrated

Just because it’s liquid does not mean that it will hydrate you. Hence, liquor triggers the body to make you pee more. When you drink, you will need to go to the toilet more for every 1g of alcohol, your pee increases by 10 ml.

Moreover, as your body loses fluid, you will feel extreme thirst and vertigo. Even though you are not moving, you will think that the room is spinning. Too much thirst may lead to dry mouth.

      3. Headache

Upon drinking liquor, blood vessels expand, which results in hangover headaches.

      4. Lack of Focus

You may have a lack of focus, loss of appetite, and motivation. These signs result from your body’s reaction to alcohol. Aside from that, you may have problems in memory.

      5. Muscle Aches

Your body may try to get rid of the acid. Also, the acid can stay longer than usual. Therefore, it can result in muscle pain and cramps.

      6. Poor Sleep

Alcohol can make you drunk or sleepy. However, it will prevent a night of deep sleep. So, you may wake up in the middle of the night. This symptom will leave you feeling groggy and tired.

      7. Stomach Pain

Drinking too much liquor will increase your stomach acid. Hence, it will also slow down stomach emptying and will irritate your stomach lining. Aside from stomach pain, you will experience nausea or vomiting.

      8. Rapid Heartbeat

Furthermore, after drinking liquor, you may wake up with your heart racing. Hence, this hangover symptom is because alcohol increases the heart rate. A study says that binge drinking and long-term use of alcohol links to health conditions. Also, a condition may be a problem with the heartbeat. In this situation, the heart may beat too slow or too fast. It does not have a regular beat.

Congener, a substance in alcohol, adds up to the flavor of the drink. However, this factor may contribute to hangover symptoms. Dark liquors like brandy and bourbon have larger amounts. Clear liquors like vodka and gin have fewer amounts. Still, drinking too much alcohol of any color will lead to a hangover.

If you drink often, these hangover signs may lead to health problems. But if you only drink once in a while, symptoms will leave on their own.

      9. Severe Symptoms

Heavy drinking may result in life-threatening conditions like alcohol poisoning. Symptoms to look for are:

      • Confusion
      • Slow breathing
      • Vomiting
      • Low body temperature

Aside from the low body temp, the skin will turn pale or bluish.

      • Irregular breathing
      • Seizures
      • Loss of consciousness

Drinking too much liquor may cause heart, nerve, and liver disease. It may also cause cancer and other tissue damage. It will weaken your body and its ability to fight off diseases.  Constant hangovers will ruin your body, relationships, and career. The best way to prevent hangover signs is to avoid liquor. Some pills and tablets claim to stop hangovers. If you can’t stop drinking, do it in moderation or ask a buddy to control you.

      Prevention

Moreover, eating food and drinking may help to prevent hangovers. Fill your empty stomach because the stomach absorbs alcohol fast if it’s empty.

Get yourself a glass of water and sip it between the shots. By doing so, you will stay hydrated and lessen your drink. If someone is asking you to drink, do not doubt to say “no.” Tell them of your hangover. Liquor plays a large role in violence and heinous crimes. It is a factor in 40% of violent crimes. About 5.3 million adults committed the offense under the influence of alcohol. Know your limits. It is better to abstain than to experience the effects.

If symptoms like hangover headaches are bothering you, go and talk to a doctor. He or she may tell you what to do or give you advice.
