Today, there are many questions about it, and science is trying to solve each puzzle piece. Some studies show the image of the brain and how it processes pain. Hence, it is good to know that experts find out interesting facts about it and make it go away as fast as possible. The following is interesting information about the pain that you should know.

      1. The Brain Interpret Pain but do not Feel the Pain

When other parts of the body are in pain, it sends a signal to the brain about it. Hence, the brain will process the information to tell you that you are feeling pain. However, it is different from the brain itself. Therefore, it happens during brain surgery. During the process, the brain will create a pain message, but it is nowhere for the signal to go. That is why during this procedure, patients are usually wide awake. However, doctors make sure that there is no pain at all. So, patients do not have to think of anxiety and fear of pain during brain surgery.

      2. High and Low Pain Tolerance

The level of pain is indeed different from one person to another. You may hear stories of giving birth for some without the feeling of pain. However, some women may feel childbirth is very painful. Hence, there are different factors why it happens. It depends on the person’s experiences, beliefs about pain, and health condition. Some people enjoy having a tattoo, while others have pain fear.

      3. You can Control Pain

Everyone can control pain using the mind. Hence, there are exercises and meditation that can help decrease the level of pain. It is all about changing your behavior towards pain. Therefore, it is possible to turn it into a positive feeling or experience. It is the same process of trying to treat pain, fear, or a phobia. Also, the right therapy will help you realize that some pain can make you stronger.

      4. Distraction from Pain

It is hard for the brain to process if there are different feelings. Therefore, if you are itchy because of a mosquito bite and you put ice, your brain will process cold. That is why acupressure is becoming popular today as a way to relieve pain. It is an old way of treating pain. By massaging part that hurts, you can take off the pain. This activity is all about trying to ignore the feeling of pain by different sensations.

      5. Having Red Hair is Sensitive to Pain

An interesting study in 2009 found out that redheads have a higher chance of feeling more pain. Hence, it is because having this unique hair color makes them resistant to pain killers. Most of the patients with this hair color experience a painful visit to their dentist than others with different hair colors.

      6. Sex is better with Pain

When it comes to pain management, it is probably the last thing that you will think of. However, some studies are showing that it can lessen pain. A 2013 study found out that 60% of people with headache who had sex during it experienced improvement. The reason behind this is that the feeling releases a feel-good hormone from the brain. As a result, it can fight the feeling of pain. Hence, it can act like a natural way to treat pain.

      7. Women is more sensitive to Pain

Moreover, it is during their monthly period when women are more sensitive to pain. Every month women suffer from hormonal changes, and it makes them more irritable.

      8. Pain Differ for Men and Women

It is because women talk more about pain than men. However, studies do not see any connection between gender and pain. Hence, it is more about the traditional gender role that men are stronger than women. That is why men do not talk about pain or seek help when they feel it. Therefore, when it comes to pain management, women are more open than men.
