Therefore, the fruit’s ellagic acid shields us from harmful molecules known as free radicals that can damage beta cells. These cells are the ones who make insulin, which controls the level of sugar in the blood. Also, cell damage may result in type 1 diabetes. Hence, eating blackberries will help prevent this damage and diabetes.

      2. Lowers Blood Level

People with diabetes have high blood sugar levels. Blackberry fruits are rich in fiber. Likewise, a cup of these raw fruits already has 8 grams of fiber. The fiber passes through the intestine, but they will not break it down.

It also prevents the rush of glucose in the blood after you eat. However, some people have their blood sugar enter the bloodstream at a fast rate. This rate may damage your blood vessels and tissues if you have diabetes.

Moreover, eating dried blackberries can boost your fiber. Fiber makes you feel full longer. As a result, it does not make you eat more.

Every day, Americans only get 15 g of dietary fiber. Also, American women need at least 20 g of fiber every day. Men need at least 30 g of fiber.

A cup of blackberry fruits has 30.2 mg of Vitamin C. Hene, this substance is vital to our bones, tissues, and blood vessels. Also, it may help in the healing process of wounds and rejuvenate the skin. A study stated that vitamin C and E heal diabetic foot sores fast. Additionally, expect this healing is along with the therapy.

      4. Helps to Control Blood Clot

Wild blackberry is a good source of vitamin K. It helps to control blood clots. Also, people with high blood sugar are at risk for blood clots. This compound is the reason why we don’t bleed too much.

Furthermore, people who lack this compound are at risk of bone thinning and fractures. It may also cause an easy bruise. Women may have heavy bleeding during their period. If you don’t have enough of this vitamin, you may see blood in the stool or urine.

A cup of this fruit has 29 μg of vitamin K. Also, other foods like green leafy vegetables and soybeans are high in Vitamin K.

      5. Boosts Brain Health

      6. Helps in Oral Health

A study in 2013 suggests people add blackberries as part of the daily dental routine. Hence, people with high blood sugar levels may have more sugar in their saliva and very dry mouths. Such conditions increase the risk of dental plaque build-up on teeth. Therefore, it may lead to tooth decay and cavities. The fruit’s extract has abilities against bacteria that cause oral disease. It may help prevent gum disease and cavities.
