      2. Drug to Relax the Blood Vessel

      ACE inhibitors can lower pressure by relaxing the blood vessels. It prevents the formation of angiotensin. It is a chemical that can narrow the blood vessels. When your blood vessels are narrow, it will make it more difficult for your blood to flow. This drug helps in lowering pressure by preventing the production of this hormone in your body.

      3. Receptor Blockers

      ARBs do not allow this chemical to perform its action as it prevents it from attaching to the receptors on the blood vessels. When the hormone starts to attach, the chances would be your blood pressure will get high. So, blocking the hormone from binding will open vessels and lower your blood pressure.

      4. Calcium Channel Blockers

      It is a medicine that prevents calcium from entering the cells of your heart and arteries. Therefore, it will allow your arteries to relax and open. Calcium increases the movement in your heart and blood vessels. That is why it is essential high blood pressure treatment. 

      5. Beta-blockers

      Your body has a hormone called epinephrine, and it can cause your heart to beat slower with less force. This drug will stop this hormone. It will result in a much slower heart rate and force when pumping. 

      6. Renin Inhibitors

      It is a substance that is a product of the kidney. It activates a series of steps that increases blood pressure. There is an inhibitor that helps in slowing down the production of renin.

      Aside from the medications mentioned above, there are other high blood pressure treatments used to manage blood pressure. 

      The effectiveness of these drugs will depend on age, sex, race, blood pressure, and health condition. That is why it is good to know the right medicine that will work for you. Alongside taking medications, you should also start to change your lifestyle.

      Avoid foods that can cause your blood pressure to rise. These include foods that are high in sodium and cholesterol. Start to exercise more and eat your green vegetables, especially when your family has a history of high blood pressure and stroke. Failing to do these things and monitoring your health can make you more at risk of stroke.
