There are different types of prostate problems, and the treatments are different. A lot of males have these problems.

      1. Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia

Moreover, it is the growth of the gland, but it is not cancerous. But there will still be constant monitoring if there are any chances it can become cancerous. Some treatments for this condition are medicine and operation. The doctor will give you a medicine that will help shrink and relax the muscles in the gland. When medicines and other options do not work, the doctor will tell you to have an operation. The surgery will help to normalize your urine flow.

      2. Acute Bacterial Prostatitis

If you are having a fever and prostate pain, you need to see your doctor right away. These are the signs of prostate problems, like an infection in the gland. In most cases, this condition is being treated with antibiotics. Hence, it helps in killing the bacteria, causing the infection. Your doctor will also give you some painkillers to ease the pain and discomfort you are feeling.

      3. Chronic Bacterial Prostatitis

This type of problem is very hard to treat because it comes back again and again. To treat this infection, you must take antibiotics for a very long time. But this treatment does not always work. It might work on some patients, but there is still no guarantee. When you have this problem, talk to your doctor about some other treatments that may make you feel better.

      4. Chronic Prostatitis

It is a condition that causes pain in the pelvis and the lower back. Aside from that, you may also feel prostate pain and in the groin. Treatments for this problem might need medicine, surgery, and lifestyle change. You will know when you have this prostate problem if you see blood in your urine or semen. Also, if you feel pain and a burning feeling every time you urinate. Other health complications can happen if you have this prostate problem. Complications like problems in urinating and bacteria spreading into your bloodstream.

      5. Prostate Cancer

There are two types of prostate cancer. First is when the cancer cells’ growth is slow and contained in an area where they could not harm the body. The other is that the cancer cells are growing and spreading very fast. Likewise, your chances of having this problem becomes higher when you are 50 and above. This type of cancer is common among African American men. If your father or brother had prostate cancer, there is a higher chance that you will have this problem.

To find out if you have symptoms of this prostate problem, you will have a physical examination. Your doctor will check the size, firmness, and texture of the gland.

      Common Signs

Here are some of the signs of prostate problems you might experience.

      • During night time, you get up many times to urinate.
      • Blood in your urine or semen.
      • You feel pain and a burning feeling during urination.
      • When ejaculating feels painful.
      • A pain in your lower back, hips, and pelvic area.

      Prevention

To lower your chance of having any signs of prostate problems, you have to do these things for prevention:

      • Choose to have a healthy diet with different kinds of fruits and vegetables. Eating different kinds of fruits and vegetables give your body the nutrients needed. Therefore, it will also lessen your chances of having other health problems.
      • You do not have to take supplements. A healthy meal is enough. There is no recent study that says supplements can lower your risk of having a prostate problem. Therefore, buying healthy foods is better than taking supplements. Healthy foods are enough to nourish your body and prevent you from getting sick.
      • You have to maintain a healthy weight. Exercise most of the days so you can maintain a healthy weight. It will also improve your flexibility and muscles.
      • Talk to your doctor about your health and family history of prostate problems. If your father or brother had prostate problems, this increases your chance also to have one.
