      Understanding the Problem

Having this health condition develops over the years, usually in older people, but it can also happen in young adults. However, teenagers can also have it if they have other health issues. Also, people who do not feel any sign does not mean you are safe from illnesses. Some may not feel anything but having high blood pressure can damage other organs like the eyes, kidney, and brain.

Moreover, early detection of the condition is essential. Hence, regular monitoring of your blood pressure can help you find out any changes. A doctor may need to check it several times a day. Therefore, it will give them an idea of how serious it is.

The following are common causes of high blood pressure.

      Common Causes

Furthermore, there are two types of it, and causes depend on the type.

      1. Primary

It is the most common type and hard to identify the main cause. However, doctors figure out different factors why people may develop it. The following are the main causes of this type.

      Genes

Some people have higher chances of having this illness because of genes. Changes in the structure of it can happen that may cause high blood pressure.

      Physical

Any changes in the body can increase high blood pressure. Likewise, it can become a problem for people who are overweight and obese. Additional weight causes the heart to pump harder. Also, body changes happen as people get older. It can affect the natural balance inside the body that may cause a rise.

      Bad Habits

People with bad habits and unhealthy lifestyles may also have it. Hence, the lack of physical activities and poor eating habits can badly affect health. All of these things can lead to having an excess weight that is bad for the heart.

      2. Secondary

It is a more severe type and can happen quickly. The following are causes of high blood pressure for this type.

      • Sleep apnea
      • Kidney problem
      • Heart problems
      • Illegal drug abuse
      • Medicines
      • Alcoholism
      • Tumor
      • Adrenal problems

Moreover, high blood pressure might be a sign of other health issues. Therefore, it is very important to ask for medical advice from your doctor. Knowing the illness earlier will increase your chances of getting better.

The following are high blood pressure symptoms that you should look out for.

      3. Common Signs

Having this health condition is a silent killer. Hence, most people do not feel any alarming signs. Therefore, some may take years before it comes out. Once signs of high blood pressure come out, it is already a serious health risk.

      • Serious headache
      • Nosebleeds
      • Hard time breathing
      • Chest pain
      • Dizziness
      • Hot flushes
      • Bloody urine
      • Eye problem

All of these signs, especially if you are feeling two or more, needs quick medical attention. Hence, it is a better nit to wait for these high blood pressure symptoms to appear. That is why regular checking of high blood pressure is essential. It is especially through for adults ages 30 and up.

Furthermore, it is better to tell your doctor if you have a family history of this illness. Mostly, doctors will increase the number of your check-up every year to monitor your health.

      4. Proper Diagnosis

Knowing if you have this condition is very simple. A doctor will get your blood pressure. It is also a usual activity inside a clinic to first get the blood pressure of patients inside. In case there is an increase, then the doctor may require you to have several readings every day for a few days. However, a doctor will not tell you that you already have the condition on the first reading.

Moreover, the environment and events can cause a sudden increase in it. The doctor needs to have readings with a continued increase to say that it is high blood pressure. If the reading continues to be very high, then the doctor will request more tests like:

      • Urine test
      • Blood test
      • ECG
      • Ultrasound

Having this health problem is not a death sentence. Hence, there is a higher chance of getting better as long as you receive proper long term medical care.
