      Skin is an organ and the largest among all. Hence, it is easier for someone to develop illnesses on the skin. Therefore, one needs to care for the skin to avoid future problems. There are different types of skin diseases. It can show at any age, so it is better to know some of these illnesses. Also, skin illnesses can be a temporary or permanent disorder. It can be painful or painless, depending on the seriousness of the problem.

      1. Eczema

      Different kinds of eczema can make the skin irritated. The most common is the allergic reaction to health issues like asthma. It is called atopic dermatitis, and there is no permanent cure for it. However, a person experiencing it can manage skin illness. It is through the use of the right treatment. By avoiding the causes, one can stay away from developing signs like itchiness and rashes.

      Symptoms

      It can happen at any age. Babies can also develop it on the scalp and face. In addition, other parts like legs, arms, back, and chest can also show signs. In children, rashes can appear in their elbows, knees, neck, and wrist. Most of the time, rashes can turn into a dry and scaly look.

      Furthermore, adults can experience very dry and thick skin. For fair skin, rashes can turn into brown from red. For the darker skin tone, the affected area will turn lighter in color.

      Possible Treatments

      Most eczema treatment is to prevent itchiness. a very itchy skin can cause infection if not properly treated. 

      Home Cure

      Common skin rashes, dryness, and itchiness are treated with the use of a lotion or cream. These products make your skin moist. Some moisturizers are available in local drugstores, but doctor advice is better. The application is better after taking a bath when the sin is damp. Also, putting a cold compress can stop itchiness.

      Drugs

      If the affected area becomes irritated or develops a wound, then you might need antibiotics. Some effective cure is chemicals, ultraviolet light, and some drugs. Also, the Food and Drug Administration now accept topical medication called immunomodulators. 

      2. Psoriasis

      It is a common skin illness with common skin rashes, thicker skin, red patches, and silver scales. Hence, it can show anywhere in the body. However, it is most common at the lower back, scalp, knees, and elbows. It is a skin illness that can be passed on from one person to another. Usually, it happens within the family. Signs can appear during early adulthood. Also, it can affect a few areas while a serious case can show in different parts. Signs can disappear but can go back later in life.

      Symptoms

      It is not considered as one of the most common skin conditions. Some signs are scales, red bumps, and thick skin. Heavy scratching can cause bleeding in the affected area. Also, some signs can appear on your nails. It can become thick, crack, and become loose over time. 

      Possible Treatment

      Luckily, people with these skin illnesses can find a lot of treatments. It can slow down the growth of new skin and stop itchiness, and cure drying. If you seek help from a skin doctor, they can give several treatments. It depends on the part, size, age, and health status of the patient. Some treatments are:

      • Steroid cream
      • Moisturizer
      • Cream with vitamin D
      • Retinoid cream
      • Coal tar

      3. Acne

      It is another common skin condition that affects almost all people at some point in their life. Acne can start when the pore is a clog. Blackheads can clog a large opening on the skin. If the opening is small, then the clog is in the form of whiteheads.

      Possible Treatment

      There are lots of available cure for acne. For instance, mild soap and water are effective. Cleaning the face using soap and water can help solve this problem. However, it may not clear up the bump. Also, excessive scrubbing of the face can worsen the condition. 

      There are cleansers you can use. You can see these products in commercials. Most of them have salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide to cure acne. These substances are mild and not harmful in small quantities. However, it is still good to ask a skin doctor. They can recommend something that is suitable for your case and skin type.
